About the Artist Portfolios

Artist's Statement

I have always stood in awe of the incredible beauty in Nature, its ever changing form and temperament and its endless invention of color. I intend to give credibility to what I see by photographing with film in the traditional way of stilling and preserving this never ending fluctuation in the natural atmosphere of light and color. I am intrigued when someone sees my work and thinks it must be digital. I am pleased to say my photographs are a true record of the natural beauty and order in the world which has been my lifelong passion.

About the Artist

Carol Fonde spent her childhood on the north shore of Long island where she began photographing the land and seascape at the age of 7 with a Brownie camera. Since 1980 she has been working as a professional photographer and master color printer based in NYC and is recognized for both her work as an artist and for her expertise in the field of color reproduction. Carol prints for many significant photographers such as Christian Witkin, Bruce Davidson, Mary Ellen Mark, Hiro and Brigitte LaCombe.
